Delete your account
You can delete your StreamWorthy account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and how to reach us if you need help.
Delete from inside the app (fastest)
- 1.Open the StreamWorthy app and sign in with the account you want to remove.
- 2.Go to Profile (bottom-right tab).
- 3.Tap the Settings icon (gear) in the top right.
- 4.Scroll down and tap "Delete Account".
- 5.Confirm by typing DELETE in the confirmation field, then tap "Delete Account".
The deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone.
Request deletion by email
If you've lost access to your account or can't open the app, email [email protected] from the email address linked to your account with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete the account within 30 days and email a confirmation once it's done.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your profile (username, display name, bio, avatar, region)
- Your email address and authentication records
- Your watchlist and episode progress
- Your ratings, reactions, and custom lists
- Your follows, follow requests, and blocked-user relationships
- Your push-notification device tokens and preferences
- Your avatar image files in our storage
- Your analytics identifier in PostHog (event data is purged by a scheduled deletion within 30 days)
What is kept (and for how long)
- Legal / compliance records — If we are legally required to retain anything (e.g., to comply with a subpoena or a fraud investigation), we keep only the minimum that's required, for only as long as it's required.
- Aggregated analytics — After deletion, we retain statistics that do not identify you (e.g., "5,000 accounts were active last week"). These numbers cannot be traced back to you.
- Public content left by others — If another user's public list references a show you added, the show reference persists on their list. Your identity as the original contributor is removed.
- Email / support history — If you previously emailed our support team, those messages remain in our support inbox for up to 12 months so that we have context for any follow-up questions. The email body is not copied elsewhere after 12 months.
Timing
- In-app deletion is immediate.
- Email-requested deletion is completed within 30 days.
- Analytics event data is purged by a scheduled retention policy within 30 days of account deletion.
- Backups are overwritten on a 30-day rolling schedule.
